How to Root and Install TWRP Recovery On Xiaomi Mi Max 2.

Install TWRP Recovery Mi Max 2. This guide will explain how to flash TWRP recovery on the Xiaomi Mi Max 2. TWRP is a custom recovery for Android devices. By installing TWRP on an Android device, you can freely do recovery. In addition, users can flash or install custom ROMs. The advantage of using TWRP recovery is because of its ease of use. Just touch the screen without using external buttons such as volume or the power button to execute all menu.

Requirements Tool For Flashing TWRP Recovery On Xiaomi Mi Max 2 :

1. Make sure ADB & fastboot drivers installed on your pc. See the following guide
2. TWRP Recovery (oxygen) Mi Max 2.
3. Download Lazyflasher zip file. (without this tool your phone will not boot. This is a very important tool).
4. Download Supersu Zip file (This file needed to root your Xiaomi Mi Max 2)
5. Then, download Magisk zip file. If you want systemless Root on your Xiaomi Mi Max 2 device. Then you need to flash Magisk zip file.

Unlock Bootloader.

1. First Take a full backup of your current ROM and backup all your important and personal data. Transfer your all the backup data to your PC.
2. Power On the phone
3. Now, tap settings
4. Tap, About Phone
5. Then tap All specs
6. Now, tap MIUI Versions menu for 7 - 8  times. Go back and Go to Additional Settings - Developer option
7. Then, Enable OEM Unlock and USB Debugging.

Boot The Phone Into Fastboot Mode.

1. Power off your phone
2. Then, Boot your phone into Fastboot Mode. How to boot Xiaomi Mi Max 2 into fastboot?
• Press Volume Down + Power button at the same time
3. Now, connect the phone to the computer Via USB cable. Use the USB type C cable.
4. Now Go to your computer, 
5. Then, go to the C drive /adb folder. 
6. From the current folder press Shift + Right Click on the keyboard.

7. You will see the option. Open a command window or Open power shell. Click on that option. It will open adb command window on your pc.
8. Now, Enter the first command to check your phone connected or not. 
• You can type: adb devices and press enter.

• You will see some numbers (for example 1c319aef as shown in the picture above) it means your phone is connected. 
• If you see not found Error then you need to install ADB and fastboot drivers on pc properly.
• If you don’t know about adb & fastboot drivers, then just see the following guide
• Then type: fastboot device
9. Now, go to your downloaded folder. 
• Find Twrp-3.2.1.0-oxygen.img file. 
• Then, You need to rename it like. twrp.img 
• Copy twrp.img file to the C:/ adb / paste it. (That is your Twrp Recovery file which you downloaded before).

10. Now, open the command window on your computer.
• Enter second command Type: fastboot flash recovery twrp.img and press enter.

• Now it will run some scripts on your pc. Done.
11. Now, go to back your phone. and boot the phone into TWRP recovery
• How to boot Xiaomi Mi Max 2 into TWP Recovery?
• First Method.
• Press Volume UP + Power Key at the same time
• Second Method.
• From the command prompt type: fastboot boot twrp.img
12. Now, your phone will automatically boot into TWRP Recovery mode. 
• Go to mount section. Just mount all options.
• If some options will not mount then leave as it is.
13. At this step make sure your phone still connected to the computer. Then, move Lazy flasher zip file, supersu zip file & Magisk zip file from computer to your phones internal storage.
14. Now, back to the TWRP recovery screen, tab  install and select Lazy flasher zip file & flash it
15. If you will not flash Lazy flasher zip, then your phone will not boot up. 
16. Once the file already flashing, click on system Reboot it will take some time to boot like 6 - 12 minutes. Don't worry about it.
