1. to prevent the cellphone from dying suddenly during the hard reset process, make sure the battery is fully charged.
2. If the phone is still on, then you have to turn it off. You can force the cellphone off if it is frozen. Press and hold the power button until the cellphone turns off.
3. Once the LG G8 ThinQ completely switches off, then turn on it again by press and hold the following button at the same time.

4. When the LG G8 ThinQ logo comes up, release the power button only and then immediately press it again.

5. Now, release all button when your phone enters the factory data reset mode.

6. You can navigate all menu using both of the volume buttons.
7. Scroll down the menu using volume down button, and highlight Yes.
8. Now, press the power button to confirm it.
9. To delete all data and customized settings (password screen, pattern lock screen, download apps, and others) you can scroll down to highlight yes again. and hit the power button to confirm.
10. Please wait for the hard reset process to complete, you do not need to intervene at this stage.
11. This process takes 2 to 3 minutes to complete, the cellphone will reboot and turn on again. Now you have to make a few settings such as the first time you buy the cellphone.
