How to Update or Flash Firmware Motorola Droid Ultra (XT1080) with RSD Lite.

Let we start our tutorial.

Preparations.

  1. During flashing Motorola Droid Ultra (XT1080) system will delete all user data, file, and app stored in internal memory. We recommend to backup it first. 
  2. Your Motorola Droid Ultra battery should fully charge or at least has 80 % of battery capacity.
  3. We recommend always use the original USB cable
  4. Make sure USB driver for Motorola Droid Ultra is installed on the computer, a driver also available here.

Flashing Motorola Droid Ultra (XT1080)

  1. Turn off  Motorola Droid Ultra (XT1080) smartphone.
  2. Once it completely Turns ff, now boot your Motorola Droid Ultra (XT1080) into fastboot mode. 
    • Press and hold Power button + Volume Up button at the same time.

  3. Then connect Motorola Droid Ultra (XT1080) to the computer using the USB cable.
  4. Make sure your Motorola Droid Ultra (XT1080) is successfully detected on the computer, if fail you can try this.
    • Check your USB cable
    • Change computer ports
    • Check your USB driver.
  5. Install RSD Lite on the computer, then run this program from desktop or start menu.
  6. Once RSD Lite window runs on the computer, Click the button marked with the arrow and red circle shown at the picture below to load Motorola Droid Ultra (XT1080) firmware.

  7. Now, navigate to the firmware folder location you have downloaded before.
  8. The firmware should have this extension. 
    • *.shx, 
    • *.hs, 
    • *.XML, 
    • *.sbf,
  9. Once your Motorola Droid Ultra (XT1080) firmware successfully loaded, you can see at the file properties window.

  10. To start flashing Motorola Droid Ultra (XT1080), just click Start button.
  11. You can see the flashing progress at the status window. 
  12. Once finished Motorola Droid Ultra (XT1080) will reboot automatically. 
  13. Now you can safely disconnect Motorola Droid Ultra (XT1080) from the computer.
  14. Finish.
